Maria Marsh, curator of the Tetbury Police Museum is pleased to announce that they have been awarded £3,250 towards an exciting project to get volunteers in to help enable the museum to re-open, writes Kevin Painter.
It will also allow for some new equipment and for work to start in the back room in the near future.
Maria said: "We will be engaging a consultant with expertise in volunteering to help myself and a small group of volunteers to develop a recruitment plan and the necessary policies needed.
"This will be our first step toward re-opening but it will also be a big step in our future proofing the museum and hopefully enable us to engage with the local community more.
"The grant is made possible by funding form the Art Fund and the Arts Council England.
"It is delivered by South West Museum Development, which is the sector support organisation within the accreditation scheme."
Well done and congratulations to Maria who has been working hard behind the scenes, whilst the museum has had to remain closed.
