A TEACHER at a secondary school in Tetbury has tested positive for coronavirus.
Jon Bell announced the news in an email sent out to parents earlier today, but said it would remain open as normal at the moment.
No students have been sent home as a result and the school is working closely with Public Health England.
The letter reads: "We have been made aware of a staff member of our school community who has tested positive for Covid-19.
"We know that you may find this concerning but we are continuing to monitor the situation and are working closely with Public Health England.
"Please be assured that for most people, coronavirus will be a mild illness.
"The small number of staff who have been in close contact with the individual who has tested positive for coronavirus have received a letter informing them that they must stay at home for 14 days.
"The school remains open and your child should continue to attend as normal if they remain well."
