POLICE involved in searching a house in Cirencester revealed this morning that the inquiry is linked to an address in Swindon.

As the Standard reported yesterday, police arrested two people in Cirencester and confirmed that officers are likely to remain at the property for several days while an investigation takes place.

It has been revealed this morning that the Cirencester property being searched is in St Mary's Road in the Beeches area.

Police have said this morning that the two suspects have been released on bail until October 26.

Gloucestershire police have now revealed a similar search in Stratton in north Swindon is related to the Cirencester inquiry.

These are the first pictures from the scene of the police search at the property in Swindon taken by the Advertiser.

Dog handlers from Devon and Cornwall Constabulary were at the scene together with search officers from Gloucestershire Constabulary.

A spokesman for Gloucestershire police said: “We cannot give any further information at this time as doing so could lead to the identification of those who have been arrested but we can confirm there is no threat to the wider public.”
