STAFF AT Rackhams were tickled pink when comedy legend Ken Dodd visited the store in Cirencester in 1981.
These pictures were all taken by the Standard and form part of an archive of negatives held by our nostalgia writer Robert Heaven.
Commenting on the Old Ciren Facebook page, one follower recalled the visit saying: "Lovely man. He stopped to conduct the Salvation Army band with his tickling stick before giving an impromptu comedy act in the store.
"A genuine talented comedian who is greatly missed."
With his buck teeth, frizzy hair and feather duster Ken Dodd, who died in 2018, was one of the most successful British comedians of all time.
