A POPULAR village shop in the heart of the Cotswolds is up for grabs.

Rendcomb Stores & Post Office, a community store located in the village of Rendcomb is up for sale with a price tag of £90,000 for the leasehold.

The store has been owned and operated by the current owner, Andrew McHugh since October 2018 and after successfully growing the business he is now looking to sell in order to focus on new stores within his portfolio.

Andrew said: “We bought the business in 2018 after years of working for others in the retail sector.

"We wanted to move out to the country and get to grips with owning and running our own store.

"It has been an idyllic village to live in and as our first store, it has been invaluable in teaching us about operating our own premises.

"After building trade up significantly for two years it is with a heavy heart that we are looking to sell.

"We decided to list with Christie & Co because of their stellar reputation and friendly, approachable agents.

"The business will bring new owners a great deal of joy, whether they are looking to change their lifestyles or are just starting off owning their own retail business.”

The store is a well-established business and has recently experienced a rapid increase in sales revenues.

Jamie Williams, business agent at Christie & Co is handling the sale and comments.

He said: “The owners have seen sales increase by 17.6 per cent over one year from March 31, 2019, and there is still significant scope for further growth.

"Located in the Cotswolds close to the grounds of an award-winning independent school with a low annual rent, this is the ideal opportunity to acquire a lifestyle business or a great entry to the market for first-time buyers.”
