Two more Cirencester College students have tested positive for Covid-19.

The students were part of the group that had already been sent home to self-isolate by the college on Tuesday, after news that a student had tested positive.

A statement on the college's website said: "Cirencester College can confirm that we have 3 students with confirmed cases of Covid-19.

"The College has a rigorous process in place which has quickly identified all those who have been in contact with these students.

"Those concerned have all been informed and are now self-isolating. The second two students who have tested positive were part of the group that had already been sent home to self-isolate by the College on Tuesday.

"Cirencester College has been working with Public Health England, other local agencies and with the Track and Trace system. The College can confirm that there are currently no teaching staff members with Covid-19."

"The College has strong systems in place to minimise risk of spread including one-way systems, extra wash facilities, sanitisers outside every building, cleaning throughout the day of touch points, the wearing of masks in corridors and social areas, staggered finishing times for classes and social distancing between staff and students.

"The College has also been operating a staggered drop off and pick up with the buses with enforced mask wearing whilst on board. Cirencester College is regularly updating parents and students and asks that anyone showing symptoms should self-isolate and get a test immediately.

"The College is supporting the continuation of learning for those who have been asked to self-isolate but are well enough to learn."
