Fire crews fought farm dryer blaze
FIRE crews battled blazes on farms in the Devizes and Pewsey area involving machinery.
The Devizes crew was called to Five Lanes, Potterne after machinery caught alight.
A spokesman said: “Both appliances responded. Two breathing apparatus wearers and three hose jets were used to extinguish the fire.”
A day earlier the Devizes crew joined Marlborough, Pewsey and Ludgershall to fight a fire in a dryer at Stowell. An aerial appliance from Swindon was also called out.
A spokesman said: “A fire within a dryer was confirmed. Crews emptied corn to enable damping down.”
