GLOUCESTERSHIRE'S Stone Barn venue is offering customers gourmet meals from a speciality menu.

Situated on a hill with sweeping views over the Cotswold countryside, this historic agricultural building, located between Burford and Northleach, usually serves as a wedding venue.

But while the wedding business is quiet, Cripps & Co, which runs the Stone Barn, has teamed up with pizza firm Baz & Fred to launch Cripps BBQs.

Having hosted weddings for over 20 years, Cripps & Co have had to pivot their business in response to Covid-19 – turning their restored barns into temporary restaurants and takeaways. They are looking to re-start weddings as soon as they are legally able to, but while the wedding business is quiet, this is a rare chance to visit the Stone Barn which is normally only open to private parties, and to sample Cripps and Co food.

The barn is equipped with a specialist barbeques and rotisseries, with large outside areas, consisting of a courtyard, gardens and fields.

There is a fully-stocked bar and wine cellar, so guests can enjoy alfresco drinking and dining street food style in the grounds of this scenic barn, with plenty of space for social distancing.

Every week the chefs put together a weekly menu that includes vegetarian dishes.

Details of the menus are updated each week on the barn's Instagram account and pre-orders can be made via the Cripps & Co website.

Baz & Fred, well known in the street food scene in London for their pizzeria at Flat Iron Square, have been working closely with the Cripps & Co team for years – cooking pizzas at the barn for evening food.

Alongside this, Baz & Fred have additionally branched out and taken over The Stump pub near Cirencester which they have turned into a pizza drive thru during lockdown with great success.

Keen to re-open the barn as a wedding venue as soon as they can, Cripps & Co is hoping people will take this opportunity to visit while they can for a unique day out with family or friends.

The barn has reopened in line with the government guidelines.
