Chedworth news by David Broad

CONTRACTORS working for the parish council have cut the verges on School Hill and Lower Chedworth – two areas where overhanging vegetation was making the road dangerous, particularly for pedestrians.

The council also arranged for the Tuns Hill triangle to be cut.

The parish council has agreed to allow With the Ball coaching to use the playing field free of charge.

With the school closed for many children, councillors felt the activities would be invaluable for those who had been missing out on school sports and a real bonus for local children.

The council also allowed the WI free use of the field for their picnic but unfortunately the heavy rain, thunder and lightning caused the event to be cancelled.

NEXT event in Chedworth, arguably the first event of the year after all the cancellations is Romeo and Juliet ‘Shakespeare at the Manor’ on September 1,2,3,4 and 5, at Chedworth Manor.

The Box Office is now open: shakespearemanor.com.

THE village hall has partially reopened.

Hirers have to follow a comprehensive set of additional rules regarding cleaning before and after hiring sessions, provision of attendants, regulation of the people entering and leaving the hall and must ensure only one person at a time uses the WCs.
