Cirencester’s Rajdoot Indian restaurant staff took to the cricket field in Rodmarton against one of their regulars and his own team for an annual game of cricket.

The regular was former Arsenal and England football captain – Tony Adams.

Every year Tony assembles a team, which in previous years has included his former England and Arsenal team mates Ian Wright and Lee Dixon, and this year contained Game of Thrones star – Alfie Allen to take on his favourite Indian restaurant in a limited over match.

The ex-footballer’s team were beaten with two overs to spare after setting a target of 112.

Rajdoot captain Nasir Uddin won man of the match.

Tony and his wife Poppy then hosted a post game gathering which the restaurant duly catered for.

“This year was a tight game and we are already thinking about next year,” said Rajdoot manager Foyez Rahman.

“Tony and Poppy are great hosts and next year we may be able to do something for charity with the game if we are allowed to have a crowd here.”

The Rajdoot is currently only open for takeaways and deliveries and can be contacted on 01285 652651.
