Residents at a Tetbury care home had birthdays to remember as they were reuinted with their families.

There was a double birthday celebration at HC-One’s Ilsom House Care Home on August 6.

Both residents had visits from their families in the garden gazebo, which was decorated with balloons and banners for the occasion.

Vince Woodman, who turned 83, had a visit from his wife on the morning and managed to dodge the heavy downpours of rain throughout the day.

Joyce Serjeant, celebrating her 92nd birthday, looked forward to the afternoon visit from her son all day. Thankfully, the weather was a little better and the sun finally came out for their garden visit.

There were lots of presents to open, themed birthday cakes, and many renditions of ‘Happy Birthday’ sung by the team as they walked by.

Residents loved being able to see their family. Joyce commented, “Thank you everyone, I’m so excited”.

Tracey Connor, Home Manager, commented, “We are so happy to be able to welcome families back to the garden for visits with their loved ones, especially on celebratory occasions like today.”
