AN APPEAL to fund the latest phase of the Palmer Hall refurbishment in Fairford has been completed thanks to a final donation by a local housebuilder.
Cotswold Homes Ltd, which is building just eight three- and four-bedroom detached homes at Fairford Gardens, a greenfield site adjacent to June Lewis Way, has contributed £500, enabling the fundraisers to achieve their latest target.
Christine Roberts, one of a team helping to refurbish the historic community hall in the centre of Fairford, has already helped raised £70,000 to update the toilets, add a disabled toilet, improve the stage and decorate the hall.
She said: "The final £2,000 phase is a kitchen upgrade, including new cupboard doors, worktops, splashbacks, sink and taps.
"Cotswold Homes’ donation of £500 is the icing on the cake which will enable us to complete the project."
Chair of the Palmer Hall Committee, Sue Crowley, said: "We are extremely grateful to Cotswold Homes for this generous donation which will enable us to finalise the upgrade of this much-loved historic hall."
