A BRIDE-TO BE was stunned when her boyfriend proposed to her at the top of Cirencester Parish Church with a little help from family and friends.

Dan Radbourne proposed to Sarah Burns on Sunday in the Market Place after the coronavirus lockdown scuppered his original plans.

He said: "We were due to go to Thailand back in April during which I was planning to propose to her.

"Obviously this did not happen and so I had to re shape my plan!

"We have both always wanted to climb the church tower in the Market Place in Cirencester and this kick started my plan.

"I spoke with the church office and it was all kindly set up with the help of the verger and vicar."

At 3pm yesterday, Dan and Sarah arrived at the church and began their climb up the tower as the bells rang out across Cirencester.

Friends and family of the couple took their position on the Market Place with huge signs saying 'SARAH WILL YOU MARRY ME?'.

As they reached the top, Sarah gazed over the Market Place before she spotted the message.

She then turned around to find Dan down on one knee with an engagement ring, where she said yes!

Thanks to Paul Nicholls who was at the church to capture the proposal.
