Health and Safety regulations have killed off many of the events and activities that at one time were extremely popular, writes Robert Heaven
Many, such as pram racing shown in the photos from 1976, were part of the lead up to the carnival each year in July.
The Royal Agriculture College (as it was once called,) held a RAG week, earlier each year which featured similar events.
