TWENTY-TWO new coronavirus cases were confirmed in Swindon in the last 24 hours.
Public Health England figures show the town has had 996 cases since the start of the pandemic.
This is up from 974 confirmed yesterday.
A new Public Health England report published yesterday showed Swindon to be the first area in the south west to feature on the government watch list.
Swindon Borough Council’s director of public health Steve Maddern said there was a lag in the government’s figures.
He put the rising case rate down to the consequence of the mini-outbreak at the Iceland distribution centre in Penzance Drive.
In the rest of Wiltshire it has 1,322 confirmed with a rise of six Covid-19 cases.
Great Western Hospital has reported no deaths for the 32nd day.
