A 53-YEAR-old Stroud man has been placed on the sex offenders register after admitting four charges of downloading indecent images of a child, possessing them and distributing them.
At Cheltenham Magistrates Court yesterday prosecutor Graham Dono said that the National Crime Agency discovered that on January 26 indecent images of a child had been uploaded from an IP address in St Peters, Cheltenham.
Mr Dono said: “Simon Blake was arrested there for uploading a Category A video via Skype that lasted for one minute and 39 seconds.
“A search was made of his phones and other computer equipment which resulted in a number of other indecent images of a child being found.”
Blake, of The Chase, Cashes Green, Stroud, pleaded guilty to distributing a category A indecent video of a child on January 26 this year; and between January 25 and April 8 possessed one indecent image of child in category A, one indecent image of child in category B and seven indecent images of a child in category C.
Richard Gibbs, defending, said: “It is quite clear this offending falls into the remit of the crown court and cannot be dealt with here.
“As this case will be going up to the crown court I would suggest pre-sentence reports are ordered so he can be sentenced promptly.”
Stephanie Allison, chairman of the magistrates agreed and said that Blake would be sentenced at Gloucester Crown Court on September 3.
Blake was released on conditional bail and ordered to sign the sex offenders register within five days.
