Another 21 employees at XPO Logistics have tested positive for coronavirus, the council has said.
Swindon council has declared a mini-outbreak at the Penzance Drive depot, which supplies Iceland supermarkets.
on Wednesday morning, the number of workers at the firm who had tested positive for the virus was 30. That had increased to 51 by Thursday afternoon.
Two XPO Logistics workers have been treated in hospital for coronavirus, the council’s public health chief has said. Both patients were in a stable condition.
The majority of XPO staff who have tested positive for Covid-19 are believed to have contracted the virus in a “social context”, for example from colleagues with whom they lived or shared lifts to work.
