The Bathurst Arms is to reopen its doors under an award winning new management team and company.

Jordan Pelly, 27, the new general manager, promises a first for the area, a near all organic menu that will be certified by the Soil Association this year.

Bathurst Arms are using as much organically sourced produce for the menu as possible for their range of small plate dishes, that are influenced by pub classics and British street food which they hope will appeal to the locals as well as visitors.

“If recent events have taught us anything it is about how important it is where we get our food and produce,” Jordan said.

“Our health and enjoyment of our food has become more important and we have put together a menu that we think has the best of the region as well as coming from organic sources.

"Our meat is supplied by butchers Martin’s in Todenham who have a great organic range and ethos, the same could be said of Purton House Organic, whom we source our veg’ and pork from.

"We use Daylesford Farm Organic for vegetables and fruit as well.”

Jordan did a one year stint at Michelin recognised venues, The Hand of Flowers and The Coach Inn, both in Marlow, Buckinghamshire and both owned by TV chef and Gloucester born – Tom Kerridge.

He then cut his teeth into hospitality management at The Wild Rabbit in Kingham, Oxfordshire, The Swan Inn, Swinbrook and The Ebrington Arms, where he was introduced to the importance of being organic and food provenance.

Jordan has now taken over the well known ‘pink pub’ in North Cerney, near Cirencester, the Bathurst Arms.

Alongside him, he has built a strong kitchen team led by Michal Wlodarcyk who had worked at Painswick House and The Falcon, Painswick.

Pork belly, broad beans and salsa verde is one of the new dishes as well as a torched mackerel, cucumber and horseradish cream or a barbequed lamb, flatbread with chilli and a mint yoghurt.

Or you could enjoy the summer favourite of stuffed courgette flower with Cerney goats curd.

“The pub is steeped in rich history and heritage and we want to be true to it as a great drinking venue. Come in for a pint of beer or a glass of wine in the garden by the stream, or to sit inside in the winter months, by one of the fireplaces, tasting our fantastic food offering,” Jordan added.
