Tara Best of Tara Punter PR is a business coach and the founder and CEO of international mindset and marketing company Tara Punter PR, helping clients with their strategy, sales and success.

Through her investment in coaches exceeding £45,000, her Neuro-Linguistic Programming, Hypnotherapy and Coaching qualification and a great deal of experience she helps clients with their strategy, sales and success.

In April 2017, Tara's lack of strategy and goals in her own business led to IBS hitting her and ongoing health problems.

At the time, she was in financial trouble, had just lost 2 major clients and was owed thousands.

She knew she couldn't go on this way but also knew she really didn't want to go back to employment.

She sought out her first coach and has since invested heavily in a number of coaches and now helps clients overcome the things that holding them back.

In 2019, Tara Punter PR went limited, VAT registered and hit 6 figures and Tara now sets her sights on 2020 and beyond.

We asked Tara what she loves about the Cotswolds

Favourite day out in the county?

My favourite day out would include clay pigeon shooting at Ian Coleys, alfresco lunch and wine in a gorgeous Cotswolds pub, like The Slaughters Country Inn, followed by a walk and afternoon coffee and cake at Burford Garden Centre. Perfection ticking all the boxes!

Best thing about living in the Cotswolds?

The pubs! There really are some treasure troves in the Cotswolds and I’m sure they’re the best in the world. We’re totally spoilt with the delectable menus and offerings, in such beautiful scenery and villages.

Who or what is your inspiration?

Cotswolds queen Jade Holland Cooper is a big inspiration - I remember when she first launched Holland Cooper and I bought a skirt from her in the early days. It’s amazing to see what she has created now. Plus her shoe cupboard is really inspiring!

What is your proudest achievement?

Being invited back to the Royal Agricultural University as both a guest lecturer then to do their PR for their 175th anniversary year - before events got cancelled back in March. That was a real proud, pinch me moment, having graduated from there in 2013.

Favourite local landmark?

There is a gorgeous viewpoint near the Cotswold Way in a village called Tresham, where you can see down the valley to Bristol and beyond. Thats a real favourite of mine. If you walk along the footpath, there’s a lovely little stream running through the fields, the perfect place to walk, relax and just take 5.

What do you do to relax?

I either love to go for a quiet, steady walk, or go to Barnsley Spa. Both offer the ultimate relaxation, away from tech and the hustle bustle of business and are so essential for my self-care. My working week is so full on and requires so much energy from myself, that I really need to prioritise relaxing, calming and unwinding times at the weekends.

What is the Cotswolds best kept secret?

The Village Tea Room in Sherbourne Village! It’s so cute, so tiny and is full of charm plus does a Cream Tea that is out of this world!

What’s the best part of your job?

Helping clients set and smash their business goals and helping them realise they really CAN have the life and business they desire and deserve. Plus I get to work with such amazing people, from not just the Cotswolds, but also the length and breadth of the UK and the US.

Favourite book or author?

A lot of the work I do with clients is around their mindset and I have two favourites - The Chimp Paradox and Get Rich Lucky Bitch. I refer to both regularly and generally always recommend them to clients. You can’t underestimate the power of your mindset and these books really help you think about how your mind works and helps you take control of it.
