Shocking new figures released by the Office for National Statistics, show that at least 80 people have lost their lives with coronavirus in the Cotswolds since March.

The latest figures released show the death toll for fatalities with Covid-19 noted as the underlying cause of death or was mentioned on the death certificate as a contributory factor.

The figures relate to deaths occurring between March, 1 2020 and June, 30 2020 and registered by 11 July 2020.

Cirencester Central (MSOA Cotswold 007) still had the highest number of confirmed deaths in the Cotswolds with 18, however, they didn't report any deaths in June.

Sherston and Hullavington (MSOA Wiltshire 005) recorded thirteen deaths with coronavirus, with one of these recorded in June.

Malmesbury, Crudwell and Oaksey (MSOA Wiltshire 002) recorded eleven deaths due to coronavirus with one in June.

Tetbury (MSOA Cotswold 011) rose to two deaths.

Cirencester East and Stratton (MSOA Cotswold 006) recorded seven deaths with coronavirus.

Kemble and South Cerney (MSOA Cotswold 010), Moreton and Stow-on-the-Wold (MSOA Cotswold 002) Somerford, Dauntsey and Minety (MSOA Wiltshire 004) and Bourton-on-the-Water and Vale (MSOA Cotswold 003) all recorded four deaths with coronavirus.

However, only bourton-on-the-Water and Vale, recorded one of the four deaths, in June.

Cirencester South (MSOA Cotswold 008), Fairford and Lechdale (MSOA Cotswold 009) and Cricklade and Ashton Keynes (MSOA Wiltshire 001) all recorded five deaths with coronavirus.

Sandywell, Ermin and Chedworth (MSOA Cotswold 004), recorded three deaths with coronavirus.

Northleach, Coln Valley and Ampneys (MSOA Cotswold 005) recorded the lowest amount of deaths with just one person losing their life to coronavirus.
