LITTER picks have been increased at Jubilee Playing Field in Cam after repeated reports of waste were received.

In the latest incident, a large amount of broken glass was discovered on the skate park this morning.

An increase in usage at the area, which is widely used and much loved by local youngsters, has meant that Cam Parish Council has now arranged for the playing field to be checked for litter five-times-a week.

Chair of Cam Parish Council, Christina Carter, said she had been sorry to hear about the glass found on the skate ramps.

She said: “This is a facility that is really popular and used extensively by our young people here in Cam. The glass appeared sometime between a council visit there at midday Monday and 10am Tuesday and clearing it was started as soon as we had the report.

“We have been experiencing more rubbish than usual at Jubilee Playing Field and Cam Parish Council has increased the number of litter pickups to five times per week, now.”
