GLOUCESTERSHIRE County Council intend to temporarily close part of the C/168 Road from Horcott Road to Whelford Road from opposite the covered reservoir to outside the property known as College Cottage for a distance of approximately 130 metres.

The reason for the closure is for the installation of a new water service.

The road is expected to be closed from Monday until Thursday or until the works have been completed.

IN order to trade safely, The Coffee Post has had to have a second entrance door opened up.

If you need to use the Post Office, then you should continue to use the original door off the Market Place.

If you want to enjoy a coffee and cake in the café area, then please use the new door that is accessed from the A417.

NEW Trustees are needed for the Friends of Fairford and Lechlade Communities (formerly the League of Friends of Fairford Hospital).

The group is looking for new faces that will help to strengthen the leadership, assist with defining the future structure of the charity and provide continuity to ensure the continued success in supporting the care and well-being of people who live in Fairford, Lechlade and the surrounding villages.

The future is uncertain, but it is clear that the health and social care needs of people in the community to grow.

The existing chairman plans to retire in May 2022 after 10 years at the helm and the recruitment of new trustees is an important part of succession planning.

If you are keen to make a difference to the quality of life to many in our community, want to improve the health and social care to those in need and want to get satisfaction from seeing the impact our services have within the local community, contact Graham Hewitt on 07504 955358 or email chair@friendsoffairford.org.uk.
