Residents in Trowbridge can now access a new mobile Covid-19 test site in the Mortimer Street car park in the county town.

Located between the Greyhound pub and County Hall, the site, which is manned by members of the 1st Royal Welsh regiment, will be available from July 13-16 and then for six days from Sunday, July 19.

The two directors of public health within the county are increasingly concerned people are taking a ‘wait and see' approach if they feel unwell, perhaps not realising that testing facilities are available locally.

Tests are available for people of all ages to book on the website and you can book in for as many as four people in each car.

If you are experiencing a new, continuous cough, a high temperature, and/or a loss of or change in their normal sense of smell or taste, you can book a test at https://www.nhs.uk/ask-for-a-coronavirus-test.

When you register for your test you will be sent a QR code that you must present when you arrive for your appointment at the test site.

Kate Blackburn, director of public health for Wiltshire, said: "If you start experiencing any of the symptoms of Covid-19, I would urge you self-isolate and book an appointment at your nearest testing site.

“The test is quick and easy to do, and you receive your results quicker than if you wait for a test to be posted to you."
