GREAT news. Malc and Liz Philby will be donating their charity monies this year to the Tetbury Hospital Appeal.

Malc is very happy to collect from anyone who would like to donate at his fantastic shop, Tetbury Hardware.

Malc said: ‘’It is our collection bucket at the shop that we used for Adam’s fund for the skate park.

"You will be able to donate until the end of December and any money placed in the bucket will go to the hospital fund.

"We’ve already had £60 which we are topping up to £100 as a start.’’

Lian of Tetbury Hospital fundraising Appeal was thrilled and said: ‘’Thank you so much, truly amazing support.’’

Dr Tony Walsh added: “We are amazed, but knowing you both not surprised.

"This is why we love living in Tetbury.’’

Please don’t forget gifts can be taken to the hospital or donated online via www.tetburyhospital.co.uk.

Tetbury mayor Ann Pearce said: "Tetbury Town Council are also pleased to say that money given by councillors towards leaving gifts for our girls who are now staying with us, is also being donated to support the hospital and the town council will be making this up to £500, as a separate donation.”

TO celebrate and officially open the town of Tetbury once again for business, mayor Ann Pearce with Tetbury Town crier will be at the Market House this Saturday at 11.30am to let everyone know about the hotels, pubs and all the hospitalities that have been missed and reopening in Tetbury.

For further information you can visit Experience Tetbury Facebook or the Tetbury Chamber of Commerce website. More on that next week!

TETBURY Fish and Chip Shop are pleased to announce that they will be opening for lunchtimes on Friday and Saturday.

During these times it will be possible to just drop in to the chip shop for service without pre-ordering.

However during the evenings, Serena has decided to maintain ordering via telephone, as it has been working so well.

To order from the menu, call 07561 648773. Card payments only.

The opening times are now Thursday 5pm - 8.30pm, Friday 12pm - 1.45pm, 5pm - 8.30pm and Saturday 12pm - 1.45pm, 5pm - 8.30pm.

THE Tetbury Men in Sheds allotment project in Herd Lane has continued throughout the current difficulties by limiting the working team to three players, comfortably dispersed through the plot in line with the 2m guidelines.

The site is now looking very neat with an abundant selection of vegetables, some of which is available for purchase.

Vegetable sales take place every Wednesday between 10am and 12pm.

It is a plastic free site so please remember to bring a bag.

There is no fixed price for the produce, all we ask is a donation to Tetbury Lions so that we can continue supporting groups and individuals in the town.

It has to be cash on the day as “will pay you next week” has not worked out too well.

LAST Sunday, June 28, Pauline Setterfield, Tetbury’s new Curate, was introduced and installed as the new curate for St Mary’s Church benefice with a special welcome and commissioning prayers.

Pauline said: “I am thrilled to be joining you as curate.

"This lovely benefice is not unknown to me as I have lived nearby in Hawkesbury Upton for the past 35 years.

"Some of you may remember me as an ad hoc member of Tetbury Church Choir.

"It will be a great privilege for me to join you in God’s mission for this benefice, and I am looking forward to meeting you all – even if, at the moment, only through the power of Zoom!’’

If you would like to take part in the online virtual Sunday Worship, then please contact Diana via office@tetburychurch.co.uk.

PLEASE note the event - a Walkthrough History of Tetbury by Dr Tony Walsh is not taking place as it was a previous event.

Dr Tony Walsh said: "I am looking at organising one some time later this year to raise money for the hospital and will advertise it when I have details. Watch this space!’’
