WITH the Government announcing the reopening of pubs on Saturday, here is how some of the premises in Peterlee will be operating to keep staff and customers as safe as possible.
Some of the pubs that are opening with restrictions in place are:
The Hearts of Oak, the bar will only be open to regulars ONLY and our regulars will take priority.
The lounge will be open however it is recommended that customers book a table in advance. A maximum of six per table will be in force for table bookings, and you will not be able to move tables during your time with us. Bookings will be split to 11am-5pm and night bookings of 5:30pm until close.
You will also need to book a table if you would like to sit in the garden. Again times will be split- 11am- 4pm 4pm- 9pm. The garden will close at 9pm. You will not be allowed inside the pub other than to go to the toilet. Table service will be provided for drinks. Walk-ins may be available if the bookings are not filled. You will not be allowed inside if it rains.
The Black Bull, will be reopening on Saturday but are now fully booked on July 4 and subsequent days are filling fast. Bookings can be made via their website and are limited to six per table. Numbers into the pub will be restricted so without a booking you may have to queue or not get in, even for a quick drink. Customers are asked to download the Sizzler pub app to order. Visits will be limited to two hours.
The Royal George, will be opening on Saturday, July 4 and will be open Monday- Sunday from 11am. and serving food 12pm-9pm.
No bookings of more than six people and tables will be staggered.
You will have to book for tables in the restaurant and also the bar. This must be done via the phone on 0191 5866500 and not via Facebook.
The pub will need your contact number for track and trace purposes and only six per table.
It will be table service only throughout the venue and beer garden but continue to offer a takeaway service. Food can be ordered through the online ordering system on their website.
The Castle Eden Inn, is reopening Sunday, July 15 and will be serving food from 12.00- 6.00pm and the bar will be open until 10pm. Then moving forward Sunday to Tuesday food is served from 12.00 till 8.30 then Wednesday to Saturday food served 12.00pm- 9.00pm. To book a table call 07712815046 between 11am and 7pm. Bookings won’t be taken through Facebook.
The Tree of York Road, will be reopening from Saturday July 4 to eat in, they are also offering a takeaway service.
