MARROWS Fruit and Veg has opened for business today – the first of the new Five Valleys market traders to raise their shutters ready to welcome customers.

Marrows is a Nailsworth based company which has built up a strong reputation in the area for providing high quality fruit and vegetables with a well-used and reliable delivery service.

Now the company is bringing a range of locally sourced fresh fruit and vegetables to the heart of Stroud with its first shop premises - part of the new concept indoor market at Five Valleys.

In the coming weeks Marrows will be joined by a full line up of other local artisan traders and food to go stalls at the market; including Xocolatl, Pieminister, Thai 2 Go, Tomari-Gi and Falafal Mama.

The market will also have a fishmonger and butcher as well as a bakery.

Darren Dunne from Marrows said: “We are really excited to be the first trader here at Five Valleys Market and to be part of this exciting new development in the town.

"We are passionate about good quality local produce and looking forward to welcoming our customers to our new town centre location.”

The market will bring a range of high quality artisan food to the heart of the town – when the centre was first taken over by owners Dransfield Properties in 2018 they identified a need for a line up of good quality local traders and developed a plan for the new Borough Market style indoor market.

Centre Manager at Five Valleys, Dionne Moore, said: “It's great to welcome our first trader to the Five Valleys Market, Marrows Fruit and Veg are a lovely local company and we’re so pleased they have chosen our market as the location for their new venture.

"We’re looking forward to seeing more traders joining us in the coming weeks.”

Tomari-Gi also opens this weekend with a click and collect service.
