Official figures show that five more cases of coronavirus have been recorded in Gloucestershire.

Public Health England figures show that 1,390 people had been confirmed as testing positive for Covid-19 by 9am Tuesday morning (June 30) in Gloucestershire, up from 1,385 the same time on Monday. A week before, there were 1,382 cases.

It's the biggest daily increase in recorded cases in Gloucestershire in six weeks.

Gloucestershire County Council clarified the figures in a post on Twitter.

 

They were among the 7,959 cases recorded across the South West, a figure which rose by seven over the period.

Cumulative case counts include patients who are currently unwell, have recovered and those that have died.

Across the UK, 312,654 people had tested positive for coronavirus as of 9am on Tuesday, up from 311,965 at the same point on Monday, Department of Health and Social Care figures show.

As of 5pm on Monday, 43,730 had died.
