Cirencester’s Téatro Bar and Restaurant like many other venues will open on Saturday, July 4, but took the extra step of surveying its customer database to gauge what measures they would like to see in place when returning to the hospitality businesses.

94 percent of respondents said they would return to a restaurant when they could eat and drink outside.

The survey also inquired as to whether customers would be bothered by taking a temperature test before entering the restaurant in which over 76 percent replied they would not.

The survey asked questions relating to PPE, social distancing, the measure now reduced to one metre from two and other hygiene measures and the full results can be found on the Téatro website.

Rachel Wright is the executive director of Ingleside House and Téatro, she said: “We want to be able to offer the Téatro experience both for drinkers and diners.

"As one of the largest outside dinning spaces in the town we have been working hard preparing to open in July.

"New furniture has been purchased to complement our existing outdoor seating along with outdoor heaters as well as the hygiene suppliers.

"In particular, we are trialling two spray disinfectants which can be used on hard and soft surfaces.

"We will also have designated staff dedicated to continuous cleaning throughout the day to ensure all tables, toilets and other high touch areas are sanitized.

“We want our customers to be comfortable and have opened up a booking system for the tables. This way we can make sure we have the right staff levels as well as offer safety for our customers.

“Tables must be pre-booked before people visit, and we will be following government guidance to make sure that you have a safe visit.

“The survey brought up some interesting results and opinions but one of the things that is clear is that everyone wants to understand the rules.

"This is something we have been working towards as well as making things return to the place they enjoyed before, we will be offering a normal drinks menu, Rachel added.
