Cirencester people have always celebrated Royal visits and occasions with fairs, parties and a great deal of flag waving.
The Silver Jubilee of the Queen’s accession to the throne in 1977 was no exception.
There were street parties, patriotic fancy dress competitions and sports events through the town.
The photos today show the sheer joy and exuberance in Cirencester, 43 years ago this month.
