Fast-food giant McDonald's could trade 24 hours a day when it moves to its new premises in West Swindon Centre.
The company was given permission to move from its first-floor unit in the centre to the empty Blockbuster shop at the centre in November last year.
The restaurant has asked to be able to vary one of the conditions of that permission – the times of trading. It would like to be open 24 hours a day.
The application says: “McDonald's would like flexibility around when the unit can trade. It will not necessarily trade 24 hours a day but it would give the opportunity to adapt its opening hours as it suits the business.
“The unit is located well away from residential properties so it is not considered there is a specific need for trading hours of the unit to be restricted.”
