SWINDON skipper Jason Doyle is just hours away from his first racing since last October.

Doyle, who led the Abbey Stadium side to a league and cup double last season, says it’s time to ‘have some fun’ as he prepares to line up for his Polish side Czestochowa at home to Grudziadz on Friday night.

His CFS Robins colleague Troy Batchelor is in the Rybnik side to face Zielona Gora on Sunday.

Polish League racing will start behind closed doors thanks to a lucrative TV deal and sponsorship revenue – something which would not be viable in the UK.

And Doyle said: “I’ve been on the bike in testing but nothing can replace the proper stuff out there.

“I’m so excited to go racing again, I just can’t wait because it’s been such a long time.

“It’s the competitive side I’ve been missing. When you’re lining up alongside three other guys it’s tense and it’s what the sport is all about.”

Doyle is in the same side as World No.2 Leon Madsen and Wolverhampton icon Freddie Lindgren.

Meanwhile Swindon continue to wait to establish whether a season is possible at Premiership level in the UK.

Premiership promoters are holding an informal ‘catch-up’ on a weekly basis to discuss the changing situation.

Club co-promoter Lee Kilby said: “It’s good to speak with the other clubs and have a chat about things and we’ll update our fans as soon as there is anything further to report.
