WORK on the last part of the flood defences of Winchester city centre is set to start in June.
Cabinet member Jackie Porter told Cabinet that the works was expected to last around six months but would complete the defences planned after the near-serious flooding of 2014.
Cllr Porter told Cabinet that three new sluice gates would be built.
The project aimed to minimise disruption to local resident and also protect wildlife.
The Durngate car park, which has around 80 spaces, will be closed during the work.
