POLICE have urged people visiting the mere in Ellesmere to respect the area in a social media post this week.
Oswestry Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) posted pictures of rubbish left near the popular mere on Twitter on Tuesday.
They also urged the public to remember the site is a no alcohol area.
The post read: “Evidence of irresponsible behaviour at the Mere in Ellesmere.
“Please think of your actions and take your rubbish home with you. Also remember it is a NO alcohol area.”
