A driver was clocked on the M4 allegedly doing almost twice the speed limit.
Wiltshire’s roads policing unit posted a picture to Twitter of the officer’s speed gun, showing a reading of 128mph.
The driver was caught on the M4 between junctions 17 and 18, Chippenham to Bath.
The account Wilts Specialist Ops, which includes the county’s roads and armed officers, tweeted: “Carrying out speed checks on the M4, not only was the driver travelling 58mph over the speed limit, their view was obscured by the low evening sun. Driver reported.”
Officers are this week continuing to take part in a fortnight-long nationwide campaign clamping down on speeding.
