SWINDON author Nicola Cornick has hit the bestseller charts with her latest historical mystery The Forgotten Sister, published by Harper Collins HQ.

Nicola draws on the history of Wiltshire and Oxfordshire for inspiration in her writing.

She said: “I’m thrilled that The Forgotten Sister is doing so well and would like to thank all my loyal readers for their support.

"We are all going through such a difficult and challenging time at the moment, and I hope my books can offer people entertainment and escape, even if it’s just for a little while.

“I love writing about the myths and legends of our local area. There is so much history to enjoy.”

The Forgotten Sister is set in the Tudor period and explores the suspicious death of Amy Robsart, wife of Queen Elizabeth I’s favourite Robert Dudley.

Tesco have produced a special book club edition as part of their Fern Britton’s Picks programme, and it is on sale in supermarkets across the region.

The 55-year-old moved to Shrivenham two decades years ago. Her last novel The Woman in the Lake was a genre-hopping mystery that spanned centuries and originated from Lydiard House.
