Butchers have come and gone in Cirencester over the last hundred years, and few remain.
At one point there were 13 listed in town alone.
Long gone include Shilhams in Cricklade Street, Baxters, that once had a branch in the Market Place and Castle Street and FH Hannis, who were based in Gloucester Street.
More recently, losses have included the Chesterton Farm shop in 2014 and in the Woolmarket - The Four Seasons Butchers - which opened in 2019 and then closed a short while later.
