With so many closures due to the coronavirus, it’s fingers crossed that when we get to May, restrictions will be lifted and the Cirencester Open Air Pool will open for its 150th anniversary year.
The pool which had been owned by the council from 1931 after they bought the lease from Lord Bathurst’ closed in 1973.
It was in a run down dilapidated state and in need of much care and attention.
Step forward a band of volunteers and helpers who took it on and have successfully run it for the last 47 years.
