FIRE engines raced to Great Western Hospital after being called to reports of smoke coming from the X-ray department.
Five fire engines and an aerial ladder platform from Swindon, Stratton and Westlea fire stations are at the scene.
A spokeswoman for the fire service said they had been called at 3.20pm.
A spokeswoman for Great Western Hospital said: "There was a small electrical fire today in our X-ray department. This was quickly managed by Dorset and Wiltshire Fire Service and X-ray services will resume as normal tomorrow."
