A GYM owner is going the extra mile to support the community as he takes his gym online for free.

Jonathan Cook is the head coach at SG23 Fitness in Iron Acton. Along with the majority of businesses in the UK, the latest guidelines for coronavirus have meant they have been forced to temporarily close.

Jonathan and his staff decided to use their spare time to offer daily online training for free with their team of qualified personal trainers.

Jon said: “Since we’ve been forced to temporarily close, we’ve decided to take our training online for everyone for free.

“We’re doing three Facebook live workouts per day plus live seminars and nutrition advice.

“We currently have around 2,500 members on the Facebook group and we want to keep spreading the word and helping as many people as possible at this time.

“ I imagine so many people are struggling with physical and mental health right now and I only see it getting worse, that is why we are offering several different online sessions to reach as many people and as many abilities as possible. Our sessions will range from high-intensity interval training workouts to yoga sessions, all with our trained professionals.”

Tim Johnson, a member of SG23, praised the initiative saying: “Jon and his team are a great bunch of guys. His business is in danger, yet he is still thinking of others. It’s great that he is offering this service, it’s a real boost for community spirit.”

SG23 will also be offering a children’s exercise class at 9.30am on Mondays and Thursdays. To join visit facebook.com/groups/SG23wellbeing
