Malmesbury Town Council
Malmesbury's Mayoral Ball has been cancelled due to the risk posed by coronavirus.
The event was scheduled to take place on April 4 but has been cancelled by the town council.
A statement posted on Malmesbury Town Council's website stated: "This is due to the risk presented by coronavirus and the potential impact of this illness on both the guests, the partners, and council services as a whole.
"This was a difficult decision made jointly between the mayor, deputy mayor and the town clerk."
The council is hoping to reschedule an alternative event in 2020/21.
Ticket holders are entitled to a full refund and should contact the council office.
