YATE’S wretched form on the road surfaced again with a chastening 4-0 defeat at Farnborough.
Yate have picked up just nine points away from home this season.
Bristol City loanee striker Sam Bell had a shot saved early on, but it was Farnborough who nosed ahead through David Fitzpatrick. Yate responded with Bell smashing a strike onto the post. However, Farnborough made it 2-0 through the experienced Rene Howe.
The Bluebells blossomed after the break with Tommy Conway hitting the woodwork.
However, Farnborough sealed the game in the final 10 minutes through Bryan Akongo and Connor Cullen.
Paul Britton’s relegation threatened side make the short trip to Scott Bartlett’s 10th-placed Weston-super-Mare on Saturday. The Bluebells are currently one place and two points above the drop zone on 29 points and have two games in hand on Walton Casuals who are one spot behind on 27 points.
