Malmesbury School's sixth form rugby team has been kitted out with a new kit thanks to a little help from a local business.

EcoSol Turfcare, based in Wiltshire, has continued as the school's 1st XV rugby sponsor.

EcoSol run a SportsTurf maintenance division which offers problem solving, in-season and end-of-season work to football and rugby clubs, including Bath Rugby.

The son of managing director, Mr Bretton King, used to attend Malmesbury School over 10 years ago.

Mr King was the rugby teams first ever sponsor helping to provide the school's first ever sixth form rugby team kit.

With the original shirts needing a serious revamp, Mr King was more than happy to continue as the school's rugby sponsor, generously providing 23 full match kits for the 1st XV.

Current 1st XV captain and Chippenham RFC senior player, Tim Iliffe-Moon expressed his gratitude to Mr King with the whole squad as they met with him on Wednesday at the kit launch.

The squad are extremely excited to give the kit its first use, which is likely to be this week as they travel to Melksham for a 7s tournament.

This season the 1st XV had a great run in the Schools Cup reaching round 4 of the Vase.

A spokesman for Malmesbury School said: "In 2021, the team, our senior rugby and netball teams will be touring South Africa for 10 days.

"The pupils will be playing three fixtures in their respective teams, as well as experiencing South African culture and going on safari.

"Mr King’s and generosity has also seen EcoSol Turfcare become one of our main tour sponsors.

"If you would like to know more about the 2021 South Africa Tour or would like to help with any fundraising, please get in contact with Mr Tomlinson, dtomlinson@malmesbury.wilts.sch.uk.

"As a School and PE Department, we cannot thank Mr King enough for this on-going support, by providing kits for the sixth form players we are able to continue to offer more sport helping to engage pupils all the way through their schooling life in sport and PE."
