Cirencester repair café continues to go from strength to strength.

The annual stats shows that 121 repairs were carried out in in 2019, up on 97 the previous year.

The repairers are also having a higher success rate with 69 percent of items fixed, beating 60 percent in 2018.

The café, which is a collaboration between Vision 21, Vanessa Arbuthnot and Friends of the Earth, runs on the second Saturday of every month.

People are invited to bring in their broken small electrical items, textiles, knives and tools for sharpening.

By sitting with the café volunteers as they carry out the repairs, attendees can pick up valuable skills which will mean less items being discarded as ‘unfixable’ and going in to landfill.

A bike repairer from Bristol Bike Project has recently joined the team and carries out bike MOTs.

Coffee and cake is available and all payment is by donation.

The next café will take place on Saturday, March 14, from 10.30am to 1pm at the Bothy on Ashcroft Street.
