Brimsham Green School have officially confirmed that all students who attended the skiing trip in Northern Italy have returned negative tests for coronavirus.

An email was sent to parents at the school after some students were removed from classes following the trip two weeks ago.

The school took every step to follow national guidelines in case there were any positive tests of the virus but now it has been officially confirmed.

Terry Redfern, a spokesman for the school, confirmed the news in the email.

"We can confirm that all students who have undertaken a COVID-19 test, following their half-term trip to Northern Italy, have received a negative test result," he said.

"The school community has no confirmed cases.

"The school continues to follow Public Health England’s advice and has started to work closely with the Local Authority on contingency planning to support the school and its students, as the Government moves to the Delay Phase of its COVID-19 strategy."

Parents had expressed their concerns over the trip, taking a handful students out of lessons following the coronavirus outbreak nationally.

One parent said: “I kept my child home from there on the Wednesday due to my concerns about returning children and teachers from the ski trip,”

“I spoke to the school, who were going by guidelines."
