AMIR Khan joked that he keep calling his new baby son 'she' — because he is so used to having two daughters.

The Bolton boxer was speaking about his family's new arrival on BBC Breakfast television — after discussing Saturday's world heavyweight championship fight between Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder with presenters Dan Walker and Sally Nugent.

Amir revealed he was actually supposed to be at the fight in Las Vegas but took the decision not to fly out to the USA because his wife was so close to giving birth.

Amir and his wife Faryal announced their baby boy on Saturday.

Proud dad Amir took to Instagram to share the happy news and post an adorable photo of himself with newborn Muhammad Zaviyar Khan lying against his chest.

Little Muhammad, who is the couple's third child, was delivered on Sunday at St Mary's Hospital in Manchester, weighing 7lbs and 12oz.

The champion boxer and Faryal are already parents to daughters Lamaisah and Alayna.

In August the couple posted a boxing themed gender reveal video in which they announced to followers that they were expecting a boy.

Amir told the BBC programme: "I was supposed to be at the fight.

"I was quite happy I didn’t go to the fight now because my wife would have killed me.

"I was at the hospital in Manchester, the baby is healthy, my wife is amazing.

"It’s funny because I’ve got two girls already so I keep forgetting now and calling my little boy 'she'.

"My wife keeps having to tell me he’s a 'he' and I keep having to say sorry

"It's amazing, I’ve got the full complete family now — I’m really happy."
