The A40 has now reopened following an incident in which a car overturned.
The road was intially blocked in both directions near the Burford Roundabout before the eastbound carriageway was closed with traffic taking it in turns to pass the scene under police direction.
All lanes are now open again and traffic is beginning to ease.
