Idle engines
Please say if I heard wrong but I believe it has been said idling engines emit more damaging fumes than when vehicles are being driven.
At an early Extinction Rebellion meeting, “cold water was poured” when it was suggested to politely ask drivers to turn off their engines when not actually going anywhere.
XR chose to go down the road of blocking traffic, probably, in effect, only increasing exhaust emissions and annoyance.
At that same meeting, stuffing plastic waste into plastic bottles to make plastic bricks to use creatively, was likewise poo pooed by the activists. Recently, the question was asked whatever happened to that idea - it does seem to have been extinguished.
