A DRINK-DRIVER has admitted seriously injuring a pedestrian in a hit-and-run.
Aaron Janes, 29, had been driving a Honda Civic dangerously before hitting Kate Hayes in Boscombe Overcliff Drive on August 2 last year.
The defendant, of Boscombe Cliff Road, appeared at Poole Magistrates' Court last week to admit three charges in relation to the incident.
Ms Hayes, 36, was rushed to Southampton General Hospital by ambulance after the crash, which happened just before 11.45pm.
She was seriously hurt. Police said her injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.
Janes, who admitted dangerous driving, failing to stop after an accident, failing to report the accident and drink driving.
The court heard that when breathalysed by police, the defendant had 64 micrograms of alcohol in his breath – almost twice the 35mg limit.
He was given unconditional bail ahead of a sentencing hearing at Bournemouth Crown Court next month.
