In 1980 and a decade later in 1990, Cirencester Market place was completely closed off to traffic for the Schools Country Dancing Festival to take place. At the time, Country Dancing was once part of the school curriculum in our area and was a hugely popular activity enjoyed by boys and girls alike. The festivals attracted a great deal of local interest and people from all around the county attended to watch.
Other years, the festival was held at the Deer Park School’s sports field.
