A Cirencester cafe is donating money to an Australia Bushfire Emergency charity for every vegan burger sold this month.
Jack’s Tearoom & Kitchen, situated on the corner of Black Jack Street is donating 50p of every one of their Plant Based Jack’s Burgers, to the World Wildlife Fund’s Australia Bushfire Emergency Fund, an idea from the burger’s creator, head chef – Holly Raynsford.
“The burger is part of our new menu,” the 40 year old Anglo-American chef said.
"Since we re-opened we have always tried to cater for all and I like using grains and pulses with spice mixes to get the best from organic and fresh ingredients.
“More than 10 million hectares have been burnt in Australia as a result of the bush fires, this number continues to climb.
"Lives, homes, and up to one billion animals have been affected, including 30 per cent of the entire koala population in mid-north coast of New South Wales.
“Jack’s, even before us, has always been known for our cakes and afternoon teas and more and more now we are being asked to make sure that we can still do this but with vegan and vegetarian options,” she added.
